Is ROGER right for me?

ROGER services are 100% free to U.S. veterans and service members. We don’t deal in red tape. You’re welcome regardless of your status, how you were discharged, your age, your years of service–ROGER is here for you.

If your challenges feel overwhelming and continue to escalate, we’re more than just a crisis line and we’re with you for as long as it takes to get you back on your path. Our treatment is proven to save lives.

What can I expect with ROGER?

With ROGER, our initial outreach lines are always open. We’re not a crisis line, but we know that being able to make that first step to connect to care at any time is one of the most important pieces in seeking outside help. Make a call or submit an online request 24/7, and we’ll contact you right away. We will determine whether we have a counselor on staff who is licensed to provide services in your state or if we can help you find quality services elsewhere in your state.

From that initial contact, your counselor will virtually meet with you on an ongoing basis to understand your military history, life circumstances, personal stressors, and more. This is not a one-size–fits-all approach. We will work with you every step of the way so that you can develop the tools and skills that you need to move forward based on what’s important to you.

Every step of the way, you can expect respect, confidentiality, and accountability.

How will I communicate with my Wellness Coordinator?

ROGER is built with flexibility in mind. We’re able to serve you virtually through telehealth care.

Once you get connected to a Wellness Coordinator, you’ll set appointments and check-ins via phone, text, or video at a consistent pace where you will always know when to expect your next appointment.

How do I know what treatment might help me?

Your Wellness Coordinator will determine the type of care that would benefit you the most. All therapies, resources, plans, and treatment modalities are tailored to you and your needs.

What is the cost to me?

If you are a U.S. active duty service member or U.S. veteran, your ROGER care is 100% free.

As a resource of Stop Soldier Suicide, ROGER has the support of generous donors across the country who want to ensure you receive the care you need.

How do I know you will keep my information confidential?

We’re an independent organization, so we don’t report back to the DoD or the VA. You’re in safe hands when it comes to clearance, career track, and chain of command.

Do you provide financial assistance?

No, we do not provide financial assistance or grants.

However, we know that financial stress can cause a wide range of issues. These life circumstances can affect the way you think and feel. Although we do not provide financial assistance directly, our Resourcing Team, may sometimes be able to connect you to trusted organizations outside of ROGER that have access to some level of funding.

Our Resourcing Team works alongside our Wellness Coordinators to help our clients navigate many local and national offerings that are custom fit for their needs far beyond just financial resources.

How long will I receive care?

A client’s journey with ROGER is tailored to the individual. There are no set sessions or timetables clients must abide by, although frequently, the ROGER client journey may be 12 to 14 sessions (sometimes less, sometimes more).

Your Wellness Coordinator may recommend a certain number of sessions to complete, which may span the course of a few months. However, if you encounter personal setbacks, that may mean you’re with us a little longer.

Our clients know what to expect at every appointment based off of their treatment plan developed jointly with their Wellness Coordinator.
